PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shoulder width adjusting device capable of easily changing a space (shoulder width) between the right and left ends of a hanger, coping with clothes of any size, simple in constitution, easily handled, excellent in durability, easily manufactured and mass-produced and low in cost so as to provide an economical hanger, and forming a clothes abutting part smoothly so as to have no anxiety about damaging the clothes. SOLUTION: In a hanger with a hanger body formed of a synthetic resin material or the like, the base end parts of lateral bent members 2 are connected to the right and left ends of the hanger body 1, and engaging protruding means are formed at the tip parts of the right and left bent members 2. A plurality of engaging recessed means are respectively formed at the right and left ends of the hanger body 1, and the engaging protruding means of the bent members 2 are selectively engaged with a plurality of engaging recessed means to change the bent state of the bent members 2 so as to change a space between the right and left ends of the hanger.
