PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and rapidly manufacture a box formed of paulownia wood to store a hanging scroll of various sizes at a low cost by cutting a paulownia wood stock which is formed to the length suitable for the longest hanging scroll in advance to the length suitable for the size of the hanging scroll of various sizes, and assembling it. SOLUTION: A forward plate part 4a and a right plate part 4d are continuously provided to each other through a hinge 6 cut leaving a film-like skin of a surface of a paulownia wood stock behind in one side width direction in the longitudinal direction, and a bottom plate 5 and right and left side plate parts 4d are adapted to the side of a hanging scroll to be store, and cut along a cutting line R. One side edge part in the longitudinal direction of the bottom plate 5 is fitted to a groove 7 provided inside a lower part of the right side plate 4d, the right side plate part 4a is folded inwardly at a right angle through the hinge part 6, and forward edge of the bottom plate 5 is fitted to the groove 7 provided on its lower part. Similarly, both the left side plate part and the rear side plate part are enacted to assemble a paulownia wood body part, and a top plate cut to the adaptable length is covered thereon.
