PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound, useful as a charge-transferring agent for, e.g. electrophotographic light-sensitive materials and organoelectroluminescent devices. SOLUTION: This compound is shown by formula I [A is ethylene, vinylene or the like; Ar1 and Ar2 are each an aryl; R1 to R3 are each an alkyl, aryl or the like, wherein Ar1 and R1 may be bound to each other to form a ring, and so are Ar2 and R2; (m) and (n) are each 0 to 2; and (p) and (q) are each 0 to 3], e.g. a compound shown by formula II. The compound shown by formula I is obtained by reacting a compound shown by formula III with a compound shown by formula IV [(m')=(m)-1, (m) is not 0] by the Wittig-Horner-Emmons reaction in a reaction molar ratio of (1:0.5) to (1:1.5) at 10 to 100 deg.C for 0.5 to 48 hours, and similarly reacting the product of the above reaction with a compound shown by formula V [(n')=(n)-1, (n) is not 0].
