PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rocker arm with high durability by press molding, and a manufacturing method for the rocker arm. SOLUTION: A rocker arm body 10 consists of a pair of side panels 11, 12 which substantially oppose in parallel, a valve stem contact portion 13 which connects both ends of the side panels 11, 12, and a pivot contact portion 14. The valve stem contact portion 13 is curved in a protruded shape and provided on one end of the opposed side panels 11, 12. A section that consists of the side panels 11, 12 and the valve stem contact portion 13 is generally H-shaped. Corner portions 13a, 13b are generally formed in arc, and corner portions 13c, 13d are formed in recess. Forming in these shapes enables the tensile and compressive stress that acts on the corner portions 13a to 13d to be distributed when the valve stem presses the valve stem contact portion 13 therefore improves durability of the valve stem contact portion 13.
