PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a knit fabric having excellent fitting ability, appearance quality, wear feeling and stretchability when used as clothing or the like by containing a given amount of polypyrrolidone and/or its copolymer in polyurethane fiber. SOLUTION: The polyurethane fiber having 10-50 d preferably 10-30 d fineness and excellent in elongation, strength, elastic recovery factor and heat resistance and preferable for knit fabric-fiber material is obtained by spinning a polyurethane dope added 0.1-10 wt.% polyvinylpyrrolidone (copolymer) wherein the polyurethane composed mainly of a polyol such as a polyether-based glycol, a diisocyanate such as diphenylmethane diisocyanate and a diol, as a chain extender, such as ethylene glycol.
