PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hidrazine compound capable of providing a halogenated silver photosensitive material having a high activity, excellent in sensitivity, hard tone property, etc., by not containing a constituting atom other than carbon and hydrogen and containing a specific alkyl group. SOLUTION: This hydrazine compound is obtained by being made not containing a constituting element other than carbon and hydrogen, having at least 3 branches and also having one or more alkyl group not directly bonding to an aromatic ring. The total number of carbon atoms of the alkyl group is preferably 6 to 10. As the alkyl group, 2, 4, 4-trimethylpentyl group, etc., are preferable. As the compound, e.g. a compound of the formula [R1 is a group not containing a constituting element other than C and H, and having >=3 branches and also >=1 alkyl group not directly bonding with an aromatic ring; (n) is 0-3; Ar is an aryl group; A1, A2 are both H or one of them is H and the other is an acryl or the like; R2 is an alkyl, an aryl or the like; G is sulfonyl, sulfoxy, etc.], is preferable.
