PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fertilizer containing glycoluril and also to provide a production process by which the fertilizer can be produced at a low cost and with easy operation. SOLUTION: This fertilizer contains as its component, a reaction product as it is, which is obtained by reacting glyoxal with urea in the presence of a catalyst and then neutralizing the resulting reaction mixture. The production process comprises: reacting glyoxal with urea in the presence of a catalyst and then neutralizing the resulting reaction mixture to obtain a reaction product to produce the objective fertilizer containing as its component, the reaction product as it is.
