PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway chip for machining which has an excellent chip processing property to high ductile steel. SOLUTION: A first breaker projection 7 is provided at the tip of a boss surface 3 extending to a corner 10, while a second breaker projection 8 is provided a little backward at the symmetric positions holding the bisector of the corner 10. The first breaker projection 7 forms half granular material making the higher position as separating from the corner 10, and the second breaker projection 8 has a triangular top plain part 13 surrounded by a side edge 11 almost vertical to a cutting edge 2 and a side edge 12 separating from the cutting edge gradually, and their outerlines are composed of inclined surfaces 14. The both projections 7 and 8, and the inclined surfaces 14 of the boss surface 3 take part in the chip deformation, so as to restrain chip flowing-out direction in a specific direction.
