PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new allylidene bis-coumarin derivative useful as an active ingredient for medicines having anti-HIV-1 actions. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I [(n) is 1-3; R1 is an alkyl, an alkoxy, an aralkyloxy, an alkoxycarbonyl, an aralkyloxycarbonyl, an alkoxycarbonylalkyloxy, hydroxy or a halogen; R2 is H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, a dialkylamino, hydroxy or the like]. For example, 3,3'-(2-methoxybenzylidene)- bis-(4-hydroxycoumarin). The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting a benzaldehyde derivative of formula II (for example, o-anisaldehyde, p- bromobenzaldehyde) with a 4-hydroxycoumarin derivative of formula III (for example, 4-hydroxycoumarin, 4, 7-dihydroxycoumarin) in an organic solvent. |
