PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ideal polyester woven or knitted fabric simultaneously having both a high anti-pilling performance, a practical strength and practical functions. SOLUTION: This anti-pilling stretch woven or knitted fabric whose surface has the fourth or higher pilling grade by ICI method (10 hr for the woven fabric or 5 hr for the knitted fabric) and which comprises composite spun yarns having a strength of >=2.0 g/d and having the following two-layered structure form. (Yarns A) the core portions (15-50 wt.% based on the total amount of the composite spun yarns): yarns comprising a modified polyester copolymerized with isophthalic acid in an amount of 2-15 mol.% based on the total amount of the acid components. (Yarns B) the sheath portions (85-50 wt.% based on the total amount of the composite spun yarns): yarns copolymerized with 5-sodium sulfoisophthalic acid in an amount of <=5 mol.% based on the total amount of the acid components.
