PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the handling of sheet materials piled in a carrier guide by miniaturizing an image forming device with a sheet material carrier and an image reader. SOLUTION: A carrier guide upper guide 301 of a carrier guide pair is so constituted as rotationally moved and separated from a carrier lower guide 302, the separation of the carrier upper guide 301 is detected by a sensor 309 so that control part, which is not illustrated here, drives a motor to rotate an approximately semicircular sheet material moving roller 310 and allows the sheet material moving roller 810 to move the sheet materials piled in the carrier guide toward the opening direction of the carrier guide pair.
