PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase sterilizing effect to legionella to selectively sterilize the legionella by sterilizing Legionella present in a water system by a simple substance of sulfur. SOLUTION: As a water treating agent composition for industrial water, a simple substance of sulfur is mixed with an anticorrosive such as tolyltriazole, benzotriazole, and mercaptobenzothiazole, a scale preventive such as an acrylic acid base polymer, a methacrylic acid base polymer, and a maleic acid base polymer, a slime remover such as isothiazolin base compounds, glutaraldehyde, phtalaldehyde, and a water treating agent such as ethylenediamine and ethylenetriamine to prepare one chemical. And such chemical is added to water system to sterilize Legionella present in the water system. In this way, it is effective for restraining Legionnaires' disease caused by legionella.
