PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high strength spongy porous metallic sheet having a reinforcing layer for the impartment of strength. SOLUTION: On a carrier sheet coated with a release agent coating layer, nonfoamed slurry is screen-printed into a pored shape to form a nonfoamed slurry pored thin film, on this nonfoamed slurry pored thin film, a foamed slurry layer is moreover formed by a doctor blade method to form a slurry laminated layer composed of the nonfoamed slurry pored thin film and the foamed slurry layer, the obtd. slurry laminated body is passed through a high temp./high humidity tank, by which it is foamed to produce a green foamed laminated body having the nonfoamed green pored thin film and the foamed green layer, and the green foamed laminated body is degreased and baked.
