PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality and highly stable phosphoric triester substantially free from peroxide, carbonyl compound, etc., contributing to offensive odor and usable in perfumery and cosmetics and the like. SOLUTION: This phosphoric triester is obtained by reaction of an organic hydroxy compound of the formula R1-O(AO)n-H (R1 is a 1-12C alkyl; A is a 2C or 3C alkylene; n is a number as the average addition number of moles of the alkylene oxide, being 1-10) with a phosphorylating agent; wherein in either one of the stages during the above production process, an antioxidant such as 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol is added to the reaction system.
