PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a septic tank in which water to be treated can be cleaned without spoiling a function of a carrier fluidized tank even when it is constituted for easy maintenance. SOLUTION: This septic tank is provided with a carrier fluidized tank E1 provided with a diffusing part for fluidizing carriers C1 by feeding air bubbles, and also it is provided with a tank filter E2 for filtering off sludge and a treated water tank T1 for storing water to be treated that has passed through the tank filter E2. A lot of carriers C2 having specific gravity of 1-1.2 are housed inside the tank filter E2. The carriers C2 are housed, settled and deposited in the tank filter so that a deposited filter bed is freely formed. A first partition wall W1 for marking off the carrier fluidized tank El from the tank filter E2 is provided with a flow transfer wall part 3 for cutting off flow transfer of the carriers C2 while allowing flow transfer of the water to be treated, and also a second partition wall W2 facing the deposited filter bed for marking off the tank filter E2 from the treated water tank T1 is provided with a filter wall part for cutting off flow transfer of the carriers C2 while allowing flow transfer of the water to be treated. In this way, the water to be treated is freely transferred from the carrier fluidized tank E1 to the tank filter E3 and the treated water tank T1 in this order.
