Genes of the resistance against diseases induced by a microorganism belonging to Magnapothe grisea (in particular, blast) which contain DNA as specified in the following (a) or (b). (a) A DNA having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 or 2 in Sequence Listing. (b) A DNA which is hybridizable with the DNA as described in (a) and encodes a protein having an activity of imparting to plants the resistance against diseases induced by a microorganism belonging to M. grisea.
