PURPOSE: A near infrared absorption filter which shows excellent heat-resistance, high visibility and near infrared rays absorbency, and stability for a long period even at high temperature, and is particularly and preferably applied for plasma display panel is provided. CONSTITUTION: A near infrared rays absorption filter is characterized by adding at least one of a dithiol nickel complex, represented by a chemical formula (1), or diimonium compound, represented by a chemical formula (2), to a resin film made from both or either of polycarbonate or polyarylate by using solution polymerization method. In the formula (1), functional groups through R1 to R8 may be same or different and alkyl or aryl group, X¬- means halogen anion, perchoric anion, hexafluoro antimonic anion or nitric anion.
