PURPOSE: Provided is a pyrethroid compound and a composition for controlling pest which contains said compound as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: 4-methoxymethyl-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl3-(2-methyl-1-propenyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate represented by the formula is provided wherein the cyclopropane ring has R-configuration in 1-position, the substituent in 1-position of the cyclopropane ring has trans-configuration relative to the substituent in 3-position of the cyclopropane ring.
