DEVICE AND METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING NAVIGATION DATA OF A RECORDING MEDIA

PURPOSE: A device and method for transmitting navigation data of a recording media is provided so that a user can make change easily program reproducing operations and program titles by separating navigation data being included as Unpackete and Packete from digital data stream reading out from the recording media, converting the separated navigation data into PES or Private section format of MPEG standard when transmitting digital navigation data stream of MPEG type and transmitting the converted data by using IEEE 1394 interface. CONSTITUTION: A device and method for transmitting navigation data of a recording media includes several steps. A first step separates navigation data stream being read out from the recoding media. A second step converts the separated navigation data stream into PES data format stream. A third step transmits the converted stream format as a predetermined format.
