PURPOSE: A method for automatically switching the video mode in a television receiver is provided so that a user does not need to operate keys many times by automatically searching and switching a video mode being inputted the output of an external VTR according to the user's requirements. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatically switching the video mode in a television receiver includes several steps. If TV/VIDEO switching key is selected(S201), AV mode is switched to AV1 mode(S202) and it is judged whether synchronizing signals are detected(S203). If synchronizing signals are detected, AV1 input is received(S204). If synchronizing signals are not detected, AV mode is switched to AV2 mode(S205) and it is judged whether synchronizing signals are detected(S206). If synchronizing signals are detected, AV2 input is received(S207). If synchronizing signals are not detected, AV mode is turned to AV3 mode(S208) and it is judged whether synchronizing signals are detected(S209). If synchronizing signals are detected, AV3 input is received.(S210) If synchronizing signals are not detected, AV mode is switched to channel 3(S211) and it is judged whether synchronizing signals are detected(S212). If synchronizing signals are detected, channel 3 is received.(S213) If synchronizing signals are not detected, channel is switched to channel 4(S214) and it is judged whether synchronizing signals are detected(S215). If synchronizing signals are detected, channel 4 is received.(S216) If synchronizing signals are not detected, this process is over. |
