CHANNEL SPREADING DEVICE AND METHOD IN CDMA COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A channel spreading device in CDMA communication system is provided to cause a base station and terminals having different channel spreading and despreading structures each other to execute communication function and selectively execute orthogonal spreading by QPSK and BPSK(Bi Phase Shift Keying) modulation modes. CONSTITUTION: A channel spreading device in CDMA communication system comprises spreading code generators(911,913), a circuit for turning virtual components OFF and complex multipliers(915,917,919,921). The spreading code generators(911,913) generate spreading codes of real and virtual components corresponding a designated channel spreading code index. The circuit inputs a mode control signal and turns the spreading code of the virtual component OFF if the mode control signal is BPSK modulated mode. The complex multipliers(915,917,919,921) input channel signals multiply the input channel signals and the spreading codes.
