<p>PURPOSE: A method for preparing d,l-alpha-tocopherol is provided, to increase the yield and the selectivity, to prevent the corrosion and the pollution of waste water due to heavy metals, and to improve the separation efficiency of tocopherol from the reaction mixture. CONSTITUTION: D,l-alpha-tocopherol is prepared by performing the condensation reaction of trimethylhydroquinone and isophytol in the presence of a catalyst being bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amine £HN(SO2CF3)2| or the metal salt represented by the formula 1 in a solvent such as super-critical carbon dioxide or nitrogen monoxide. In the formula 1, Met is a metal atom selected from the group consisting of B, Mg, Al, Si, Sc, Ti, V, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Y, Zr, Rh, Pd, Ag, Sn, La, Cs, Nd, Pr, Eu, Dy, Yb, Hf, Pt and Au; and n is the atomic valence corresponding to the Met, that is 1, 2, 3 or 4.</p> |
