<p>PURPOSE: A base station apparatus and radio communication method is provided which is capable of receiving a signal correctly and prevents instantaneous interruption due to loss of synchronism when the switching of transmission directivities is controlled and even when transmission is performed by selecting a path with a widely different propagation delay. CONSTITUTION: A base station apparatus and radio communication method comprise: information acquisiter to acquire information necessary to select a weighting factor used for directivity formation from a reception signal; a weighting factor selector(510) to select at least two weighting factors based on the information; and a transmitter(515) to transmit using at least two paths based on directivities formed by at least two the weighting factors. When switching to a path whose directivity changes greatly or a path with a widely different propagation delay, transmission is performed for both directivities for a certain period of time. Then, transmission is performed for one directivity.</p> |
