<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a cylinder head commonly by a natural intake engine and an engine with a supercharger. SOLUTION: A gasket 31 having a shield portion 33 is arranged between a cylinder head 2 and an intake manifold 8 for a natural intake engine having a large-diameter intake port 5. A lower portion of an intake passage formed by the intake port 5 and a branch pipe 11 is shielded by the shield portion 33. Intake air flowing through the intake passage is increased in its speed by throttling of the shield portion 33, and deflected upward. When the intake air is flowed into a combustion chamber 4, it generates intensive tumble flow T along an upper wall of the combustion chamber 4. It is thus possible to obtain intensive tumble flow required by an engine with a superchargerby adopting the gasket 31 having the shield portion 33. The cylinder head 2 for the natural intake engine can be adopted to the engine with a supercharger.</p> |
