An anode for a primary electric cell consists of Mg with 0.03-1.7% In. The alloy may also contain, for example, Al up to 12%, Zn up to 3%, Ca up to 0.5% and the impurities associated with commercial magnesium. The anode may be used in the cells described in Specifications 659,367, 669,256 and 735,005.
