PURPOSE: A slip preventing method of an auto transmission vehicle on a tilted road is provided to prevent a slip of a vehicle by opening a valve of a throttle body after perceiving a backward slip of a vehicle, thereby excessive acceleration is not needed and driving in a tilted road is safe. CONSTITUTION: An auto transmission vehicle has a transmission lever position sensor(26) for perceiving a position of a transmission lever in a vehicle room, a vehicle velocity sensor(28) for perceiving a velocity of a vehicle, a throttle position sensor, a gear box and a transmission control unit(TCU, 30). The slip preventing method of an auto transmission vehicle on a tilted road comprises three steps. In the first step, the TCU(30) compares the signals from the transmission lever position sensor(26) and the vehicle velocity sensor(28) with a predetermined value and determines if the vehicle is slipping or not. In the second step, if the TCU(30) determines that the vehicle is slipping, the TCU(30) runs an actuator(32), thereby opening a valve of a throttle body(36). In the third step, a velocity sensed at the vehicle velocity sensor(28) according to the opening of the throttle body(36) is transmitted to the TCU(30), then the TCU(30) stops the run of the actuator(32) if no slip occurs or restart the second step if there is a slip. Therefore, a slip of tilted road starting of vehicle is prevented.
