PURPOSE: A heated oxygen sensor is provided to prevent any durability deteriorations of heater assembly and contact portion of heater rod by preventing superheating of the heater rod of the heated oxygen sensor resulted from cut-off power supply upon the heater rod is superheated beyond active temperature by power of battery under the state of ignition on of automobile. CONSTITUTION: A heated oxygen sensor comprises an accommodation portion(22) in which at least one of a first and second assemblies(10, 11) branches to upper portion(20) and lower portion(21) of heater assembly and a flange(23) is formed on the top end of the upper portion(20) of heater assembly; wax(24) filled into the accommodation portion(22); a cover member(25) connected or disconnected to the flange(23) of the accommodation portion(22) in response to expansion or shrinkage of the wax(24); an elastic member(26) of which opposite ends are connected to one end of the cover member(25) and the upper portion(22) of heater assembly, respectively; a housing(27) which guides the cover member(25) upon the up-down motion of cover member and is formed to prevent the wax(24) in the accommodation portion(22) from leaking to the outside, whereby any durability deteriorations of the heater assembly and the contact portion of the heater rod can be avoided by preventing superheating of the heater rod of the heated oxygen sensor resulted from cut-off power supply upon the heater rod is superheated beyond active temperature by power of battery under the state of ignition on of automobile.
