PURPOSE: A fuel system is provided for use in supplying fuel under high pressure to the cylinders of a compression ignition internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION: A fuel system comprises a fuel pump (10) having a pump outlet which communicates with a fuel volume (12). The volume (12) communicates with the inlets of a plurality of fuel injectors (13). The fuel flow paths between the pump outlet and the inlet of each injector (13) form substantially equal restrictions to the flow of fuel.
