PURPOSE: An AC-type PDP(plasma display panel) is provided to improve a contrast by effectively intercepting a light transmission. CONSTITUTION: In an AC-type PDP(plasma display panel), a front electrode(E1) composed of a transparent electrode(T) and a metal electrode(M) thereon is partially formed on a front board(P1), embedded in a dielectric layer(D) on the front board(P1). Further, a rear electrode(E2) is entirely formed on a rear board(P2). A black matrix(X) includes a lower black matrix(X2) and an upper black matrix(X1) on the front board(P1). The lower black matrix(X2) is embedded in the dielectric layer(D), whereas the upper black matrix(X1) is stacked on the dielectric layer(D). Light emitted in a discharge space between the front and rear electrodes(E1,E2) successively passes through two black matrix(X1,X2). Therefore, the light is very likely to collide with black pigment in the black matrix(X1,X2), that is, the light is intercepted double by two black matrix. Thereby, a light transmission is effectively intercepted. |
