PURPOSE: A method for gaining information of optical disc is provided to be capable of detecting, under the optimum conditions, data of disc information recorded on the specific area of an optical disc. CONSTITUTION: A method for gaining information of optical disc, which detects disc information data recorded in the form of bar code from any other area than data area of optical disc, comprises a first step for reading and replaying the data recorded on burst cutting area(BCA) of optical disc; a second step for detecting width of burst cutting section among the signals read and replayed in the first step; and a third step for variably regulating the revolutions per minute of optical disc set previously in response to the section width detected in the second step, whereby the BCA data can be detected without errors and also the signals replayed on the BCA can be output under the optimum conditions, even though the cutting width and signals corresponding to the width may be reduced because of any manufacturing errors of optical disc or any damages of optical disc itself.
