PURPOSE: A variable type air cleaner structure of automobile is provided to be capable of regulating amount of air passed through air cleaner in response to a vehicle speed and, thus, remove harmful causes against improvements of automobile engine output. CONSTITUTION: An air cleaner(20) for automobile including a first duct(21) in which air introduced from exterior by negative pressure of engine is passed through; a filter case(22) having a main filter(23) therein, to which one end of the first duct(21) is connected; and a second duct(26) connected to an another end of the filter case(22), which allows to the air flowed from the main filter(23) of the filter case(22) to pass into suction manifold, comprises a high-speed-duct(30) spaced from the first duct(21) while one end of the duct(30) is connected to one side of the filter case(22); a first solenoid valve(31) and a second solenoid valve(32), each of which is installed on an intermediate portion between the first duct(21) and the high-speed-duct(30) and is opened and closed by the signal of a central processing unit(33); and a secondary filter(34) provided on a front end of the second duct(26) serving as a passage allowing the air passing through the filter case(22) to intake into the suction manifold, whereby the air is allowed to slowly intake into the suction manifold upon an automobile is driving at a low speed, while, upon the automobile is driving at a high speed, the air is allowed to rapidly intake into the suction manifold. As a result, improvement of engine output can be accomplished.
