PURPOSE: Cylinder washing machine, having increased optical properties and reduced dead volume among constitutional parts is provided. CONSTITUTION: The invention relates to a washing machine or a clothes dryer comprising a horizontally placed or slanted rotating cylinder (3) in a washing container (2) with a sleeve (3.1) and two covering surfaces (3.2, 3.3). The sleeve (3.1) or one of the two covering surfaces (3.2, 3.3) is provided with an opening for removal. The sleeve (3.1) is made entirely or partially out of sheet metal with a domed structure directed towards the inside of the cylinder. In order to protect laundry as much as possible while preserving optical features and ensuring that residual water is fully emptied, the perforations (16) in the sleeve (3.1) are located on the outer edges (16.1) of the dome which are directed towards the outside of the cylinder. Alternately, the perforations (16)) can be located in sections (3.5; 3.6) of the sleeve (3.1)which are designed without a dome structure.
