PURPOSE: A reproduction apparatus is provided to have a record medium which contains a search address where a plurality of data records are appended hierarchically. CONSTITUTION: In a reproduction apparatus, a record structure comprises a volume recording part (1) at an upper layer, which is capable of setting a multiple volume in the same way as a computer hard disk. At a lower layer of the volume level exists a main image recording part(2), which is divided into individual cells having sequential cell numbers. The record structure comprises a sub image recording part. The sub image recording part is used to record sub data associated with main data in the main image recording part(2). The sub image recording part comprises data such as a translation subtitle in order to store a program for executing the order or for making a screen of helping a next record and reproduce operation. At each title in the sub image storing part is allotted a 2-bit serial number. The serial number is written with a search address used to search a title(referred to as 'an upper search code'). The serial number is appended at each subtitle in each title. The serial number is written with a search address used to search a subtitle in a title(referred to as 'a lower search code'). |
