PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor body obtaining a good picture without charge irregularity, density irregularity caused by sensitivity reduction, ground stain caused by a rugged defect or the like. SOLUTION: In an electro-photographic photoreceptor prepared by successively laminating a substrate layer 2, a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transfer layer 4 on a conductive substrate 1, surface roughness of the substrate layer 2 is Rz in average roughness of 10 measured points, which is smaller or equal to 2 times of thickness of the charge generator layer 3. Furthermore, a contact angle of a surface of the substrate layer 2 with water is <=80 deg.. A binder resin contained in the substrate layer 2 is preferable to be a thermosetting resin.
