摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the melting of a chromium-containing raw material while the oxidation of chromium is suppressed at the time of melting the raw material. SOLUTION: One or a plurality of stabilizing burner devices 1 each of which accelerates the melting of a chromium-containing raw material 7 and contains a burner main body 25 and a combustion pipe 26 is installed to the furnace wall of an electric furnace. The burner main body 25 is positioned on outside of the furnace wall and jets a combustion flame 36 from its front end section into the furnace wall. The combustion pipe 26 having a cylindrical shape extended roughly along the jetted direction of the flame 36 and the base end side of the pipe 26 surrounds at least the front end section of the main body 25. The front end side of the pipe 26 is inserted into an inserting hole 13 made through the furnace wall. In addition, the ratio R (=b/a) of the length (b) of the flame 36 to the distance (a) from the front end section of the main body 25 to the front end of the pipe 26 is adjusted to 0.2<=R<=2.0.
