PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the balance device for 4 cycle V type 8 cylinder engine which can restrain the drop of a productivity to the minimum and obtain a high support rigidity while restraining the enlargement. SOLUTION: In 4 cycle V type 8 cylinder engine with the bank included angle of 90 deg., a cylinder block is composed of an upper block 1 and lower block 2 divided by a horizontal plane on which a crankshaft center is passed and on each of these upper/lower blocks, a bearing hole 27, whose axis is in parallel with the crankshaft, is provided on the symmetrical position around the divided surface and the diameter of the journal 28 of this side of the insertion direction is formed to the diameter or more of the weight W in order to support the balance shaft 16 to the cylinder block while inserting from one direction to the bearing hole. Thereby, the enlargement of an engine is restraingd and it is favorable for obtaining a high support rigidity and the assembly of the balance shaft is carried out easily.
