PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient radio telephone system by which a message transmitting procedure is drastically simplified by automatically storing transmitted message and mail kinds in a telephone directory in the case of an opposite party to whom a message has been once transmitted. SOLUTION: This radio telephone system is constituted of a receiving means 10, a transmitting means 20, a control means 30 consisting of a microcomputer or the like, a key input means 40 for executing a key operation and a display means 50. The control means 30 consisting of the microcomputer or the like is provided with the telephone directory 31, a telephone directory reading means 32, a telephone directory writing means 33 and a mail storing means 34 to be linked with the telephone directory and, then a user can transmit a mail to the opposite party by a method which is the same as that of telephone calling by using the telephone directory in a conventional manner in appearance the when he is one to whom the message was transmitted once.
