PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accurate focus control adjustment by providing a focusing related member moving with respect to a fixed member with a light quantity varying member varying a light quantity and shifted from a light emitting member to a light receiving member, and detecting focus information according to output from the light receiving member. SOLUTION: This device is provided with plural transmission type photointerruptors 10 for detecting a focal distance and plural reflection type phototransistors for detecting a focusing state. Relating to the photointerruptor 10, a photodiode 18 is arranged to face to the inside at either leg part 16 of a housing 14 having a U-shaped cross section, and a phototransistor 22 is arranged to face to the inside at the other leg part 20. The photodiode 18 is coupled with a light emitting side terminal 24, and the phototransistor 22 is coupled with a light receiving side terminal 26. A light shielding plate 30 forming a focal distance detection signal is arranged between the photodiode 18 and the phototransistor 22 so that it can move with respect to the housing 14.
