摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce contact defects due to expansion of film substrates under various environments and to prevent gap defects between film substrates on the peripheries of conductive parts. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display element is constituted by providing, at prescribed points of a sealing material for bonding a pair of film substrates 1 and 2 to each other, with a conductive parts 20 formed by dispersing irregularly shaped conductive particles 21 in a binder 10. The base material 22 of the irregularly-shaped conductive particles 21 in the conductive parts 20 is formed to have nearly the same size as the size of the gap G between the film substrates 1 and 2, and has plural conductive projections 23 protruding from the surface of the base material 22. Then, the odd-shaped conductive particles 21 come into contact with a common electrode 4 and a common electrode terminal 6, thereby allowing the conductive projections 23 exposed from the binder 10 to penetrate the common dl 4 and the common electrode terminal 6. The contact defects by the expansion of the film substrates 1 and 2 thereby decreased. Since the base material 22 is of nearly the same size as the size of the gap G between the film substrates 1 and 2, the gap defect between the film substrates 1 and 2 on the peripheries of the conductive parts 20 may be prevented as well.
