PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wrong use preventing method of data which limits the accesses of a system for each storage medium not for each user and inhibits a user from reading the data out of a storage medium that is built into another system by the theft, etc. SOLUTION: A wrong use preventing method of data of an independent computer system includes a process where a password is stored in a storage medium of the system to access a storage medium 1 of the system, a process where a user is requested to input a password, a process where the password inputted by the user's request is compared with that stored in the storage medium and a process where an access is permitted to the medium 1 only when the coincidence is confirmed between those two passwords. When the system is connected to a network, the password is also stored in a server 3 and authenticated between the system (storage medium) and the server 3 in a data access mode. |
