摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the amplification factor while stabilizing the output light by employing two concave lenses of identical focal length disposed on the outside of two optical amplifying means as a heat lens compensating means, thereby suppressing the wave aberration or astigmatism of laser light. SOLUTION: Since solid-state laser rods (optical amplifying means) 2-1, 2-2 generate heat by absorbing pumping light, in general, they are cooled from the side face side. Consequently, the temperature at the side face side decreases but the temperature increases in the cross-sectional central part of the solid laser rods 2-1, 2-2. Thus when the solid-state laser rods 2-1, 2-2 are composed of an isotropic medium, e.g. Nd:YAG, the solid-state laser rods 2-1, 2-2 serve as convex lens for laser light and heat lens effect is obtained. Spread of laser light is thereby compensated by arranging a concave lens 7, as a heat lens compensating means, on the optical axis.
