PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the running speed of a recording medium compatible with the stabilization of a recording wavelength in an information recorder provided with a rotary type or moving type head. SOLUTION: This information recorder 1 provided with the rotary type or moving type head 4 is provided with a running speed control means 3 for controlling the running speed of the recording medium 2 and a recording means 5 for recording information in the recording medium 2 by using the head 4 and is constituted so as to perform the running speed control of the recording medium 2 and the rotation or moving control of the head 4 by using a piece of common drive source 6. Then, in the state of fixedly controlling the running speed of the recording medium 2, a frequency signal generated accompanying the rotation or the movement of the head 4 is detected, and the signal after passing it through a phase locked loop circuit 7 is used as a synchronizing signal, and the information is recorded in the recording medium 2. That is, in the state fixedly controlling the running speed of the recording medium 2, a recording synchronizing signal changing following the change of the rotation or the moving speed of the head 4 is generated, and the recording rate of the information is variably controlled.
