PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the number of steps and to magnetically record it on the film by incorporating a step number measuring device for measuring the number of steps. SOLUTION: The step number measuring device 8 for measuring the number of steps is incorporated in the camera with a data recording function having a magnetic recording circuit for storing information. In the device 8 of the camera with the data recording function incorporating the step number measuring device, a vibration sensing part 8a always senses the walking of a human being by vibration regardless of the on/off state of the power source of the camera or the display state of a display part 7, and the number of steps is counted by a counter part 8b. A signal counted by the counter part 8b and transmitted to a CPU is displayed on the display part 7 as the number of steps. Next, the display changeover switch 4a of a data input circuit 4 is operated to invert date information and magnetically record it on the film as the display of information on the number of steps. By incorporating the device 8 for measuring the number of steps, it is unnecessary to carry both a pedometer and the camera so as to improve portability.
