PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rain or dust from infiltrating into a microphone, to prevent a lens from being soiled or scratched and to reduce depth dimension. SOLUTION: This image pickup device has the center of rotation 103 at the rear part of the device, is provided with a lens unit 113 and a rotary opening/closing type cover 102 covering over the upper part of the device, and provided with a view finder unit, the microphone 107 and a stroboscope 108 in the cover, then the view finder unit is arranged on the optical axis of the lens unit 113 in the opened state of the cover.
