PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the image forming operation and to prevent the execution of job from being influenced, at speed slower than the normal through, during the time until the completion of repairing by changing/controlling the image forming speed to the speed slower than the normal image forming speed, when a cooling fan is judged in a state of stopping. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with the drive motor cooling fan 32, so that the temperature, of a drive motor 25 is not raised beyond a fixed temperature. However, in the case of an unexpected failure occurring on the cooling fan 32, a CPU 22 judges that the normal copying operation can not be performed, based on the output of error detecting means, and performs the copying operation at the prescribed low speed. Moreover, the displaying part 33 transmits that effect to a user. Thus, in the case of detecting that the cooling fan 32 is abnormal, the device transmits that effect to the user, and simultaneously to reduce the image forming speed to the speed hardly affecting the breaking force by the driving motor temperature rising, therefore the image forming operation is performed at the low speed, until the repair is completed by a service man or the like. |
