PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically execute the management of a document to be shared. SOLUTION: A document preparing device 2 prepares a document, based on the character data or the like of documents applied through an input device 1. When the document to be prepared is the object of shared management, a document managing flag is raised. A file access means 22 stores the prepared document file and further, when the document managing flag is raised, it is reported to an update information extracting means 23. The update information extracting means 23, which receives notice, compares/refers to non-updated and updated documents and extracts update information specifying an update spot in a document managing table. Based on that update information, a document managing table updating means 31 updates the document managing table. Thus, the shared management of the document is enabled without troubling a manager.
