PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the light utilization efficiency and the quality of display. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a light guide plate arranged on the back surface of a liquid crystal display panel and a light source which makes light beams incident on at least one end surface of the plate. Many micro dots MD are formed on the surface of the opposite side with respect to the opposing surface against the liquid crystal display panel of the plate. The direction of each micro dot MD is specified and the directions of the dots MD are made random. |
