PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To install a retainer on a housing from its fore side, in the case of a connector in which the retainer is directly locked on metallic terminal parts for slip-off prevention. SOLUTION: Support plate parts 35, projecting like cantilevers are formed on a retainer 30 and lock pieces 36 lockable on metallic terminal parts 20 are provided in a bendable manner on projecting ends of the support plate parts 35. Fit spaces 18 (fit parts) enabling the support plate parts 35 to fit therein from the fore side and guide slopes 26 (guide parts) for bendingly displacing the lock pieces 36, as a consequence of the fitting motion of the support plate parts 35 are formed in a housing 10. The retainer 30 is installed on the housing 10 from the fore side, while the support plate parts 35 are fitted into the fit spaces 18, and the lock pieces 36 are bendingly displaced by the guide slopes 26 and locked on the metallic terminal parts 20 in a circuitous manner, whereby the metallic terminal parts 20 are prevented from slipping off.
