<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time required for interpolation and interleaving processing by decreasing the number of data for the interpolation and interleaving processing in the case of reducing a size of an image in an image reader such as a digital camera. SOLUTION: Pixel data surrounded in broken lines P shown in figure are interleaved from pixel data configuring a read image pattern where color components are repetitively arranged in the unit of matrices M each consisting of 2×2 pixels. The arrangement of the color components of the read image pattern consisting of pixel data after the interleaving indicates repetition of pixel data in the unit of matrices M each consisting of 2×2 pixels. By applying interpolation processing to the pixel data whose number of data is reduced through the interleaving processing, color data for each color component to produce a reduced image are produced.</p> |
