PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the short circuit of a coil and to improve the linearity of output characteristics at low cost with simple constitution without providing a compensating circuit and a compensating coil. SOLUTION: This device is so constituted that a coil 1 wound in a tubular shape and a load are connected in series and applied with high-frequency electric power and a core 2 in movable structure is provided inside the coil 1 and this detecting device detects the displacement of the core 2 in the coil 1 by detecting the voltage of the load corresponding to variation in the inductance of the coil 1. In this case, the coil 1 has a pitch larger than its diameter and the pitch has an equal-pitch part, so adjacent coils 1 never have a short circuit since the diameter of the coil 1 is larger than the pitch of the coil 1.
